Woodcrest Preschool teachers have a personal style that they bring to their classroom. Activities are implemented in a variety of ways, based on what ‘works’ for the children’s learning style. Our teachers read the interest cues of the children and expand upon these areas. The responsive curriculum offered at Woodcrest is all about capitalizing and incorporating the interests and natural curiosity of children. Children learn through play, and learn through hands-on activities. Our teachers continually look at our classroom environment and activities to provide the very best interactive experiences. This is where the 5 senses comes into play. Teachers explore themes in a variety of ways using sound, sight, touch, taste, and smell.
Woodcrest Preschool provides high quality child care programing for children starting as infants, toddlers, preschoolers, TK, and kindergarten. Our enhanced early learning curriculum is vastly different from other preschools and gets great results for kindergarten readiness. Our curriculum is filled with a healthy mix of academics, play, routines, yoga, gardening, cooking, music, art, math, pre-reading, social studies, animal exploration, and much more.
Each month your children will enjoy a varied and rich early learning theme. This theme will dictate how teachers utilize the curriculum. The curriculum will integrate letters, numbers, colors shapes, food, music and play. These activities are more fully explained in our weekly lesson plans.
